About Program Duta Guru

Program Duta Guru (PDG)

is a joint initiative between Yayasan PETRONAS and the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) through the Education Policy Planning and Research Division. Its aim is to empower 4,500 exemplary teachers with high competency and commitment to enhancing Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) through STEM education, as a foundation for building a competitive nation by 2030.

The PDG programme aspires to strengthen the existing education system by equipping public school teachers in Malaysia to nurture students’ interest and proficiency in STEM subjects and Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), with particular focus on students from underprivileged backgrounds.

Established in March 2019, Yayasan PETRONAS is the Social Impact arm of PETRONAS Our mission is to enrich lives for a sustainable future. We strive to create lasting impact, improve quality of life, and enhance socio-economic outcomes for communities across the nation.

Yayasan PETRONAS is the Co-Owner of the Program Duta Guru together with the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE).

The Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) is the Co-Owner of the Program Duta Guru, with the Educational Planning and Research Division (EPRD) representing MOE in the planning and collaboration efforts to ensure the smooth implementation of this programme.

Established in December 2010, Teach For Malaysia is a non-governmental organisation that works with various partners to address inequity in education.

Teach For Malaysia serves as the Implementing Committee for the Program Duta Guru.

Petrosains serves as the Implementing Committee of the STEM Hub for the Program Duta Guru.
